UKE with mind of a TORY
In recent
times, I have been finding it more and more difficult to get a young person to
bend, to cower. They are proud, healthy, straight, tangled with EGO to the bum.
Of course they train for technique.
And while they
are on the side of Tory there is no problem - the fight is male, there is a
stand, a center, an attack, everything.
But when they go to the Uke position all of this disappears - there is, of course, a solid attack and so much. They lose all desire and interest to attack again and again. They forget their center somewhere, stability and dynamics are somehow alien to them. Why is this happening?
It is very important to have equal enthusiasm and energy for both roles. You have to be adaptable.
They push you - you sink, but it's rather a slight retreat and dropping as cats do before they're thrown on sparrows. In this position, it may be that your center is lower than that of Tory, that you are more stable and, therefore, in a better position, including the counterattack.
When they pull you - you succumb, but you keep a stable center – therefore are Ki-tests and exercises. You retain your readiness when the external force disappears, to move into a new attack or movement.
In a word, a men must be as a spring, both as a body and as a spirit. Maximum relaxed, responsive to the changes in the situation, active.
This of course is closely related to self-defense ideas. There are 2-3 basic things that are important and without them no self-defense is possible.
First of all, the psyche - for me, all these three-month self-defense courses are a big laugh. Because the psyche is not created for 2-3 months. And the first thing in one situation is to keep your mind clear of panic, fear, confusion. No one can react adequately with an upset mind. Psyche is built for years, even for decades. I'm not talking about the psychedelic psyche of any medication athletes. I'm not even sure if this is psyche or just superhuman and malicious. We have seen in the MMA tournaments how judges have to literally cover up with a body some helpless athlete to save him from his foolish, completely out-of-control opponent. It is not a psyche, but a madness.
The second important thing is prediction. This means constant awareness of the environment, the situation around us, the state, the world. You can not walk like an outing in the woods (not that there is who knows how safe already). No one knows whether the next bombing will be in Sofia - in a church / mosque, on a bus / tram, in the subway. There was some crazy man with a knife in the trolley. What is the guarantee that no one will attack us at the stop or in the park - well, no one. People are very busy and there will be more and more cases. So isolation from the middle with earphones is the worst possible solution. This was proved by the case of the murdered journalist in Rousse.
Only the third place is the training, physical training and so on.
That is, self-defense is a whole process of studying different aspects of life in society, watching news, comments, analytical broadcasts. To be adequate in the first place, you need to be active - in learning, in your knowledge of the world and in the processes in society.
Now tell me how many such people have, who walk with open eyes and ears and their mind constantly snaps ?! There are. But there are not many.
The most important thing is for a person to be on standby, a light-hearted assessment of the situation and an adequate response - whether to hide, whether to attack, or to contact the authorities. If someone pulls a machete or a knife at the stop (which is happening several times in Germany and France) and starts to ramp up - there is no time to think - otherwise there will be a lot of victims and if you have at least the ability to distract him if not - defuse; you can not hesitate at this point.
If you are with a woman and children - their security is paramount. You must have clear priorities. This is not something to think of the moment. You must have previously made scenarios for such or other situations. It is not accidental to do disaster-fighting scientists with accidents. Everything happens instantly, and you can not even think of what is a good option and what you might possibly want to take.
Self defense course - forget it. Be active, reasonable and cautious :)
